EatingOxford.com has joined sponsors Sysco Memphis and Nella for Oxford’s very first Restaurant Week, being organized by Visit Oxford and scheduled to take place January 26 through February 1.
According to Visit Oxford, Oxford Restaurant Week will give you an opportunity to “eat out and help out.” Each time you dine at a participating restaurant during Restaurant Week, you’ll have an opportunity to vote for one of Oxford Restaurant Week’s local food focused charities. The charity with the most votes by February 1 will receive a $5,000 check. Participating charities include Good Food for Oxford Schools, the Oxford Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, More than a Meal, and Lovepacks.
Some restaurants will also be offering specials and prix fixe menus exclusive to Restaurant Week.
“We are thrilled about this new event in January when Oxford tends to be quieter after football season and the holidays,” says Mary-Kathryn Herrington, Director of Tourism for Visit Oxford. “We think it’s a great way to get locals out to support their favorite charities and to attract visitors to Oxford to dine in our restaurants and spend the night in our hotels, in an otherwise slow time of year.”
Visit Oxford is still taking applications for sponsors and restaurants. Restaurant owners interested in participating will need to turn in applications by Wednesday, December 11.
Looking forward to seeing you all during Restaurant Week!
