Restaurants Embrace Holiday Spirit

17 Oct

Getting in the Halloween spirit? So are some local eateries.

Several Oxford restaurants are teaming up with the Cedar Oaks Guild and Theatre Oxford to offer “Spirits Specials” for lunch and dinner October 22 to 26. The week-long celebration commemorates the 2012 “Spirits of Oxford,” a biennial oral history production recreating some of Oxford’s most memorable characters.

Restaurants participating in Spirits of Oxford Week include Ajax, The Beacon, City Grocery, Proud Larry’s, Snack Bar, Boure, Phillips Grocery, The Rib Cage and Two Stick.

The 2012 Spirits of Oxford production will be presented twice on Friday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Tickets are $10 (cash or check) and available at the following locations: City Hall at the tourism desk, Chamber of Commerce, Powerhouse, and the Convention Center. Tickets can also be purchased via credit or debit for $11 by emailing spiritsofoxford@gmail.com or by calling 662-753-1163.

Spirits of Oxford is a production of the Cedar Oaks Guild of Oxford Lafayette Historic Homes, Inc., in collaboration with Theatre Oxford. The event has been funded in part by a LOFT Grant.
