Old Venice Hydrates Oxford

Cheers to Old Venice Pizza Company owner Jim Bulian for taking the initiative during the dog days of summer to set up a table outside of his restaurant that holds a decanter full of refreshing water infused with fruits, vegetables and herbs. Free to all passersby, it’s gestures such as these that make Oxford restaurants stand out against others.

The water tasted stale (old fruit)
I would say a majority of the food here is over salted and tasteless

This is a true example of Civic Enlightenment and Marketing Savvy by Mr. Bulian and his staff. Pause to refresh on an oppressively hot day and peruse the menu in the window while imbibing from the caretaker’s flask. Now we’re hungry – why not step inside and cool off too?? Pure unmitigated genius in action.
The most difficult operational concept to get across to business proprietors and their staff is that QUALITY DOES NOT COST MONEY! Rather, QUALITY SAVES MONEY AND GENERATES CAPITAL IN THE LONG TERM.
But I have met [many] business school graduates who think that the secret to their success is doing everything as shi$$y as the market will bear; that this philosophy “saves” money and increases profits. This misconception infuriates me.
Kudos to Jim and Staff for celebrating the revelation that QUALITY DOES NOT COST MONEY! You can take that literally in this example, because providing water to drink is essentially FREE. But look at the potential and real returns (like making us blog about it). I say again, this is Pure Genius at its Finest!
