Vegetarian Curious?

There has been a lot of talk in the media lately about vegetarianism and its benefits to both your health and the planet. Because of this, over the past few years and increasingly so during the last year, a whole new breed of vegetarians have cropped up:

  • flexitarians – mostly vegetarian but eat meat occasionally
  • pescetarians – eat fish but no other meat
  • pollotarians -  eat only chicken
  • social carnivores – a fairly new term for those who only eat meat at social gatherings (i.e., holidays, parties)
  • vegans – the strictest of all vegetarians, exclude the use of animals for food, clothing or any purpose

Whether you’re a full-fledged vegetarian or vegan, fall into one of the hybrid categories above or are just curious about the topic in general, a new vegetarian organization has been formed at Ole Miss to help you further explore your options. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 9, and full details can be found below.
