Wondering what replaced Sugar Brown’s out on College Hill Road? A new restaurant, Fat Cat’s Catfish & Steaks, has taken its spot that’s serving catfish and Angus steaks cut to order. Plate lunches are offered during the week along with homemade desserts and catering. Dinner is served Saturdays 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

UPDATE: I tried Fat Cat’s the other day and was very pleased with the results. Two catfish filets, two sides, hush puppies and a drink only cost me around $10. Throw in a side of friendly service and the promise of homemade caramel cake on my next visit and I was sold.
UPDATE 2/22/10: Fat Cat’s is now open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
